So, it's been a while since I posted something. Actually, this will only be the second posting since I started this thing. Here goes:
Almost nine months into my Navy career, and I don't regret it one bit. It's tough being away from home, and those whom I love. I get to watch my nieces and nephews grow up through photos and Skype calls. Thank goodness for technology, at least. That way, I can rest assured they will still be familiar with me when I come home to visit, and for good.
The writer in me has had to take a backseat to the academic who still dwells in my cranium. I try to write when I am afforded the liberty time, but my priorities demand other things of me. Other days, I just am not feeling it, and have to relax in different ways. The writing will continue, eventually.
My job requires a lot of studying, and a lot of test-taking. Critical-thinking goes without saying, but some people here don't seem to think so. I've seen some pretty scatter-brained stuff since I arrived in Illinois. When you're told not to do certain things, and you see getting several others getting in major trouble... DON'T do what they were doing. Simple.
Christmas is rapidly approaching, and I will be able to go home for 17 days, and be home for both Christmas and New Year's. I can't wait to see my family, friends, and the house I've called home. Lastly, but certainly not least, I cannot wait to be with the woman of my dreams, who is as anxious to see me as I am to see her.
I will post again when I have time. Please share, and I will be persuaded to post more often. :)
